Disaster Assistance

After You Apply

Once you have applied for FEMA assistance, you can expect to receive a determination letter from them. This letter, sent either by mail or email according to your preference, is of utmost importance and should be carefully reviewed. It will provide you with crucial information regarding the type and amount of assistance that will be provided to you. Additionally, the determination letter may highlight any registration issues or concerns that need to be addressed in order to proceed with your application.

If your home or its contents were damaged as a result of the disaster, please note that a home inspection will be necessary in order to complete the processing of your application. This inspection is a standard procedure to evaluate the extent of the damage and ensure that the assistance provided aligns with your specific needs.

When you receive your determination letter, take the time to read it thoroughly and comprehend its contents. It will outline the assistance you are eligible for and guide you through any further steps required. Should you have any questions or concerns, FEMA's contact information will be provided in the letter, allowing you to seek clarification or address any issues promptly.
